This morning, as I made my way to the gym, something caught my attention. The sky was bursting with vibrant colors. Amber and gold melted into gentle pinks and deep purples—a divine canvas waiting for anyone willing to stop and take it all in.
Standing there, fully present in the beauty of this moment, I realized something profound: The sunrise isn't exceptional today—it's my noticing of it that's exceptional. For weeks, perhaps months, I had traveled this same path under grey skies or in the darkness before dawn. The sunrise wasn't absent; it was simply veiled from my perception. In that moment of clarity, I recognized something far deeper about our Spiritual journey.
The Eternal Flame Within
The spiritual awakening we seek isn't something external. It's already burning within us—a constant, unwavering flame that has been there since the beginning of our soul's journey.
"Your connection to Spirit is not something you need to build—it already exists in perfect form. What you're actually doing is removing the veils that have kept you from recognizing it's been there all along." - Julian Jenkins
This is the essence of our Spiritual pathway. We aren't learning how to become more spiritual; we're remembering who we truly are beneath the layers of conditioning, fear, and separation that have accumulated over time.
Why Noticing Matters
Acknowledging the beauty around us is a vital part of spiritual practice. The more we pay attention, the more we awaken to the rich experiences life has to offer. Each sunrise is a reminder of renewal and the opportunity for change. It encourages us to let go of outdated beliefs and embrace the present.
The Shadow Elements That Cloud Our Vision
What are these clouds that obscure our inner divinity?
In my four decades of working closely with Spirit, I've recognized that these shadow elements are essential for our growth. Fear, anxiety, and sadness aren't signs of failure on your spiritual path. They are temporary weather patterns moving through the eternal sky of your consciousness.
"When shadow elements rise within you, don't fight them or judge yourself. These aren't obstacles to your journey—they are essential parts of it. Each shadow you face with loving awareness becomes a stepping stone rather than a stumbling block." - Julian Jenkins
Embracing Shadows with Kindness
It's important to acknowledge these feelings when they arise. Don't push them away. Instead, greet them with loving kindness. Recognize them not as burdens, but as teachers guiding you towards greater understanding and compassion.
The Divine Light Never Dims
When my father passed in 2008, grief overwhelmed me like a tidal wave. For months, I felt disconnected from Spirit, myself, and everything that used to bring me joy. I thought my light had gone out.
As I emerged from that dark night of the soul, I realized a profound truth: My connection hadn't vanished. It was obscured by the dense clouds of grief. The sunrise was still happening every morning; I just couldn't see it through the storm.
"There is never darkness, only an absence of light. When you feel disconnected from Spirit, remember that the light hasn't dimmed; it's simply that something within you has temporarily forgotten how to see it." - Julian Jenkins
This is perhaps the most liberating realization: You can never lose your connection to Spirit, much like the earth never loses its connection to the sun.
Finding Your Way Back to Light
When you're feeling lost, remember that the light is always there, waiting for you to notice. Spend a moment in silence and reconnect with the flame within. Let it guide you back to clarity.
Parting the Veils
How do we unveil our connection to Spirit? Here are some steps:
Return to your breath. Breath is the bridge between worlds. Five conscious breaths can center you faster than any complex spiritual practice.
Sit with what arises. Emotions will come. Acknowledge them without judgment and breathe into them.
Trust the unseen. Your connection to Spirit remains unbroken, even when you cannot feel it. Faith is trusting the evidence of the unseen.
Practice mindful awareness. Moments of presence align you with your true nature—the eternal witness behind all thoughts and emotions.
"The most powerful spiritual practice isn't found in complex rituals or esoteric knowledge. It's in those moments when you consciously choose to be fully present in the now." - Julian Jenkins
When the Student is Ready
My journey from burden to blessing wasn't immediate. There were times when I felt completely alone. But looking back, those moments prepared me for deeper understanding.
"Every cloud that obscures your inner light is actually preparing you to appreciate the sunshine more deeply." - Julian Jenkins
Your Divine nature remains intact, even if you're not aware of it. This is the liberating truth of our Spiritual journey: You are already exactly what you're seeking to become.
The Perpetual Sunrise of Your Soul
As you move through your world today, remember the sunrise. Behind every cloud of doubt and storm of fear, the eternal flame of your Divine nature continues to burn brightly.
"The truth that will transform your life isn't that you need to become more Spiritual—it's that you already are infinitely Spiritual." - Julian Jenkins
Your task isn't to create this inner light; it's simply to remove whatever stands between you and your recognition of it. You'll discover that you've never been separate from Spirit.
The sunrise happens regardless of clouds. Your Divine nature exists, whether you recognize it or not. The practice is learning to see through the veils.
Be love and give love,
Julian
