About
The man behind the work.
Still human. Still spiritual. Still real.
Plainly
I am Julian.
I am a Welshman, a father, and now a grandfather. I live near Cardiff, on the South Wales coast, where I have spent most of my life. I am not a guru and I would not want to be one. I am an ordinary man who paid attention. I have spent more than twenty-five years working in the world of business and technology, and just as many years, quietly, walking an inner road alongside it. For a long time I kept those two lives apart. This page is the one where they meet.
The years before
From the outside, it worked
I built the life I was told to want. The career. The pace. The proof that I was doing well. I was good at it, and for a long time it carried me. What I did not say, even to myself, was that I had stopped being able to feel most of it. I was running to the tune of a song I did not write, singing lyrics that had been handed to me as gospel. From the outside it looked like success. Inside, something had gone quiet.
The Turning
Eventually, the song I was singing became too loud to ignore, yet too hollow to sustain. It was not a sudden break, but a slow turning. I started to listen to the silence between the notes of my life, finding a rhythm that felt ancient and yet entirely new.
This was the beginning of Living Awake. Not as a rejection of the world, but as a commitment to being fully present within it. I stopped performing success and started practicing presence, walking the road that leads back to the self.
The Practice
The Living Awake
Today, I do not teach from a pedestal. I teach from the ground we both walk on. My work is not about adding more noise to a loud world, but about finding the silence that was already there. I support people in the slow, honest return to themselves—the self that is not defined by what it produces, but by the quality of its presence.
